Adai & Avial~The jodi no.1

Adai served with avial, jaggery and a blob of butter..

According to me adai-avial is the most healthy tiifin..It is not only tasty but nutritious also..The Adai has four different pulses ,rice and the mixed vegetables of avial which altogether contributes a hearty, filling meal...The crispy adai with the tenderly cooked vegetables is heavenly..
Adai(Lentil crepes) is a kind of dosa which is thick and spicy. It can be served with avial,chutneys,ghee/butter and jaggery.
Avial is basically a dish from kerala which later became popular in tamil cuisine. The flavour of coconut and cumin-ginger paste with the perfectly cooked vegetables is tantalizing! The beauty of avial is you can add any vegetable under the sky.And this dish demands minimum of 5 different vegetables. We had adai & avial for dinner today and they were fantastic.
